Will Oreo's Abuser Fabian Henderson Ever Be Sentenced?

ASPCA Equally to Blame for Oreo's Death & WAR Promotes Oreo's Law at the Courthouse

On Thursday, February 11, 2010, activists once again gathered at the Kings County Courthouse for the sentencing of Fabian Henderson. Henderson has plead guilty to Felong Animal Cruelty and has admitted to throwing his young dog Oreo off of the sixth Story rooftop of a Red Hook building Back in June, 2009.

WAR has followed this case since the very beginning and has attended each of Henderson's hearings, including the one of December 3, 2009, when he failed to appear for his sentencing.

Journalists from the New York Times and CBS News were present and interviewed WAR's Camille Hankins. Sadly, the Judge once again adjourned the sentencing hearing.

Activists made use of the opportunity to once again draw attention to the role the ASPCA played in Oreo's eventual death. After healing Oreo physically and collecting as much in donations as possible, they eventually sentenced Oreo to death by fatal injection. Ed Sayres, CEO of the ASPCA finished the job that Fabian Henderson started.

Also, literature was distributed promoting Oreo's Law, legislation that would prevent what happened to Oreo from happening to other animals in the future.
