Another lovely, spring-like day allowed for heavy pedestrian traffic in New York’s fashionable SoHo neighborhood. 8 activists manned a table overflowing with leaflets and a DVD player showing a continuous loop of the video The Truth”, which exposes the horrific cruelty to animals at Huntingdon Life Sciences.

As always, Win Animal Rights enjoys overwhelming support in New York City. Even those who may not be predisposed to care very much about animal suffering, usually sign the petition and make a contribution after hearing about the egregious animal suffering and the specious science for things like toothpaste and tanning lotion.

Many chatted with activists about the alternatives to animal testing and showed enough interest to accept pamphlets and references to learn more about alternatives. In addition to talking about the horrors of animal testing, activists were able to converse with interested parties about fur, cruelty free living and veganism. WAR activists always have copies of Veg Starter Kits and “Why Vegan” available for distribution.

The highlight of the afternoon came when a SoHo resident stopped by the table to chat and ended up volunteering to come out to work at future tabling events!
