WAR Delivers a Message to Pfizer Executives

Demo 1 – Pfizer Chief Financial Officer

It was a lovely Sunday afternoon, which found many Pfizer Executives at home enjoying their day. Our first stop was to the home of Alan Levin, Chief Financial Officer of Pfizer. A packet of information was delivered and short but loud demonstration, complete with graphic posters and full color banner, followed.

Next we stopped at the home of Randi Goldmann, Vice President and Allergy Group Leader for Pfizer. Unfortunately, we found that Randi has moved. Thank goodness for helpful doormen who are able to provide forwarding addresses. We will make sure to stop by and see Randi at the new address real soon.

Demo 2 – Pfizer Senior Director

A short walk away and we were at the hi-rise apartment building of Dr. Nina Hill. Dr. Hill was at home and the doorman was kind enough to buzz her to tell her that we had left a packet of information for her at the front desk. By the time Dr. Hill got down to the lobby, our large banner was unfurled and activists were chanting loudly….”500 animals died today, Nina Hill is to blame”. Many of Dr. Hill's neighbors came down to see what was going on and many asked for literature. Some promised to speak to Dr. Hill after we were gone. The neighbors were very supportive of our efforts and our cause.

Demo 3 – Pfizer Marketing Executive

Next up was a return visit to Melissa Grigorieff of Pfizer Marketing. As this was a return visit, we made sure that Melissa was home and launched immediately into a raucous and loud protest. Neighbors came out and were given flyers about Pfizer's on-going relationship with the butchers at HLS. We'll be back, Melissa!

Demo 4 - Pfizer Communication Executive

A short walk from Melissa's we came to the home of Mary Barnes an Executive on Pfizer's communication team. After determining that Mary was indeed home, activists watched with interest as the doormen and several neighbors furiously dialed the local police precinct about the chanting demonstrators lining their quiet street. Police came and after watching the demonstration for several minutes drove away without even getting out of their squad car. Guess they realized that we were having a legal, peaceful demo and that no laws were being broken. Diners at the open air restaurant directly across the street listened to the chanting with interest and strained to get a look at the signs and posters. Many came over and asked for literature. Once again, we had strong support in this neighborhood.

Demo 5 – Pfizer Director – Regulatory Affairs

Our final stop of the afternoon was the home of Carol Haley, Director of Regulatory Affairs for Pfizer. Activists hand delivered an information packet and spoke to Carol about Pfizer's relationship with Huntingdon Life Sciences. The fact that 500 animals are brutally killed at HLS every day didn't seem to concern Carol Haley. A loud demonstration ensued. Activists took their signs and banner right up to the plate glass window lining the buildings lobby. Neighbors were horrified to learn of their neighbor's complicity in the killing of animals at HLS. We encouraged those neighbors to share their feelings with Carol.

The best part of the demo came when a rather well fed but mentally underdeveloped doorman, complete with arm in a sling (very, very scary with only one useful arm), faced off with demonstrators arguing about how Carol Haley didn’t even live in the building and how we were at the wrong address. I guess he missed the part where the other doorman called Carol to come down to the lobby, where she chatted with activists about her lack of any empathy for the animals being killed at HLS. What a jerk! How many times do we have to tell you…we do our homework…doormen can lie, but Pfizer executives cannot hide!
