Sunday, May 10, 2009 WAR Activates for Mothers Who Don’t Want Their Babies Murdered for Science or Fashion Happy Mothers Day! Win Animal Rights hit the streets on a splendid Sunday afternoon to speak out for all of the mothers out there that will lose their children to sadistic animal killers. Demo #1: Daniel Sullivan - Canadian Consul General While the European Parliament recently (and overwhelmingly) voted to ban all Canadian seal products in protest of the horrific Canadian seal massacre, activists returned to the home of Daniel Sullivan, Consul General for the Canadian government. The unfortunate reality is that the hunt [sic] continues, more so out of spite for compassionate people than financial well-being. As such, the activists have vowed to return again and again to Mr. Sullivan's home until the seal hunt is extinguished. With fliers, placards and boisterous voices, demonstrators alerted everyone on Park Avenue about his government's economic support of baby killers. To many activists' surprise, numerous pedestrians informed them they had already learned about the brutal seal massacre, absolutely disgusted that such a travesty is allowed in the 21st century. Public opinion is against the Canadian government's sanctioned slaughter. It's only a matter of time before Canada has to face the facts. The seal massacre will end. ![]() Demo #2: Robert Kelly, Chairman & CEO - Bank of New York Mellon Finished with Sullivan for now, activists shifted their focus from the plight of the seals to the laboratory animals tortured to death inside Huntingdon Life Sciences. Protesters arrived at the home of Robert Kelly, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Bank of New York Mellon, to name and shame him for investing in Andrew Baker's death camps. Unfortunately Kelly's goons weren't around that day to provide the activists with some comic relief. It is a shame since they missed the new BONY Mellon flier, hundreds of which were distributed throughout the neighborhood. Mr. Kelly's picture certainly looked snazzy! Once again many passersby gladly took fliers and were horrified that their neighbor would support such horrible acts. A couple of pedestrians turned out to be members of VIVA!, Vegetarians International Voice for Animals, a U.K. based outreach group, and expressed kind words of support. How long will you ignore reality, Mr. Kelly? Your company bankrolls puppy killers and that's certainly not making you any friends. Rumor has it that the Bank of New York Mellon has sold their shares. We'll see, but until your release financial reports, don't expect WAR to go easy on you. Demo #3: Michael Grobstein – Director - Bristol-Myers Squibb Protesters didn't have to travel far to reach the next location, that of Michael Grobstein, Director for Bristol-Myers. His residence, just up the block from Robert Kelly, happened to be at the corner of busy Third Avenue. The activists were more than happy to chant and distribute literature to nearby pedestrians, damning Grobstein and his company's ties to the vile Huntingdon Life Sciences. Hey Mikey, since protests will likely continue at the Kelly residence, activists just might pay you a few more visits. They will never back down, until you stop the killing. ![]() Demo #4: Archibald Cox, Chairman - Barclays America The final demonstration of the day occurred outside the home of Archibald Cox, Chairman of Barclays America. While WAR is not one to support conspicuous consumption, they had to admit that Bloomberg Tower provided a nice backdrop for a great demonstration. The fine acoustics made for a louder-than-normal protest. One might have expected the neighboring residents to be angry due to the level of noise. It was actually quite the opposite; the locals were extra supportive at One Beacon Court. One woman from the building, so appalled by the images that she had seen, picked up a sign and joined the protest. One resident took as many fliers as she could, hoping to further spread the word about Mr. Cox' financial support for sadists. Could it get any better? Why yes it can! Employees from a nearby cafe were so thankful for the demonstration they brought over some (free!) refreshments. See Archie, your neighbors don't like you or your blood money.
