Central Park West Home Demos

HLS, Sanofi Aventis and NYSE Euronext

Demo #1 - Andrew Baker, CEO - Huntingdon Life Sciences

WAR held their monthly demo at the home of Huntingdon Life Sciences chief scumbag and puppy killer, CEO Andrew Baker. A beautiful summer day saw many pedestrians strolling along Central Park’s west side and witnessing the outrage and protest of 15 activists holding a large graphic banner and bloody signs showing the atrocities committed at HLS. Several new faces were evident in the group, witnessing the resurgence and renewed vigor of the campaign here in New York City. The sound of loud and angry voices once again filled the street on Central Park West.

Demo #2 - Nicole Brier, Sanofi Pasteur - Liaison

Just a short walk away, activists landed on the doorstep of Nicole Brier of West 90th Street. Despite attempts by neighbors to educate Nicole about the cruelty she is supporting, she remains employed by HLS customer Sanofi-Pasteur (subsidiary of Sanofi-Aventis). Several neighbors seem exasperated as they hear that Nicole continues her employment and that Sanofi continues to do business with animal abusers. Once again the quiet side street rang with the loud voices of protest.

Demo #3 - Dale Bernstein, Senior V.P. – NYSE

Outside of Andrew Baker, Dale Bernstein seems to be the most disliked person on the Upper Westside. Activists routinely hear stories about Dale from her neighbors. No one seems the least bit surprised when they hear that the NYSE has welcomed the puppy killers of HLS onto their new electronic exchange, ARCA. One irate neighbor did charge activists like one of the bulls running in Pamploma. Wild eyed, frothing at the mouth and wearing incredibly bad shoes, this “gentleman” was incensed that we were in front of his building on a Saturday afternoon making…*g-a-s-p* NOISE. Can you imagine NOISE in New York City? He screamed in young activists faces, he physically pushed and shoved them, but activists were not deterred. Matter of fact we stayed longer and got louder. When will they ever learn?

Demo #4 - John Guttilla, Partner - Rotenberg, Meril, Solomon, Bertiger & Guttilla

POSTPONED - In order to save the life of a baby bird!

On the way to our fourth and last demo of the night, we found a tiny baby bird that had fallen from her nest on West End Avenue. The baby appeared to be in shock, so we contacted a local bird rehab and rescue person and decided to forego the last demo in order to save this tiny bird’s life. The bird was so tiny and weak from her ordeal that we weren’t sure if she would make it through the night. But reports later in the week were that she was in an incubator at a vet’s office and being hand fed. The tiny sparrow will be released in an upstate bird sanctuary when she is strong enough to survive on her own.
