WAR Focuses on HLS Investor Barclays and Customer Novartis

Demo #1: Franklin Robinson – Barclays Global Investors

The divestiture of H Partners and Eagle Assets leaves Barclays Global Investors as the largest current institutional investor with stock worth over $10 million. First stop of the day, for activists, was the hi-rise home of Barclay’s Hedge Fund Manager, Franklin Robinson. Banners were unfurled and posters of the bloody mutilated remains of animals murdered at Huntingdon Life Sciences were raised high to educated the public.

Robinson’s neighbors were given literature about Barclay’s Global investment in the brutality that happens daily at HLS. Passersby were horrified to hear that animals continue to be killed to test products like toothpaste, tanning lotion and coffee sweeteners.

Demo #2: Kevin Baer - Barclays Global Investors

A short walk away, activists gathered at the building of Barclays Global Trader, Kevin Baer. Kevin must be pretty high profile as he and his father are well known in the building and the neighborhood. Many of Baer’s neighbors expressed disgust that Barclays was investing in a horrible company like Huntingdon Life Sciences. Raised voices of activists filled the quiet street as they named and shamed Kevin Baer and Barclays. Many promised to write letters, make phone calls and some even said they would no longer invest through Barclays.

Demo #3: Joy Hou - Barclays Global Investors

Two blocks away and activists were in front of the building of Joy Hou, another Barclays Global Investors Trader. No sooner had the banner been displayed then the doorman from Joy’s building rushed out to tell activists that Joy and her family had moved out of the building. Multiple building residents approached the picket line to inform the activists that Joy had moved. There must have been a memo to coordinate the “story”. Of course, activists had already confirmed that Joy did, in fact, live in the building. So, they were not dissuaded from continuing the demonstration.

“Barclay’s Global Investors, do the right thing and dump your shares of LSR” (Life Sciences Research = Huntingdon Life Sciences) said the protesters.

Demo #4: Noemi Rosa - Novartis International Marketeer

Final stop of the late afternoon was the luxury building of Novartis International Marketeer, Noemi Rosa. Novartis, a drug company, is one of Huntingdon Life Sciences biggest customers. Pictures of bunnies lined up with their heads in stocks so that toxic substances could be inserted into their eyes…pictures of cats being poisoned for another crappy product….pictures of infant monkeys waiting in despair to be mutilated and tortured…..these are the images of life at Huntingdon Life Sciences. With all of the bad press Novartis has experienced in the past years, it is a wonder that they continue to do business with the puppy killers at HLS.

Save yourself Novartis....don't go down with the sinking ship that is Huntingdon Life Sciences. Cut your ties now and let us know when you have done so. Until then "We'll be back, Novartis!....You can count on that.
