Saturday, September 13, 2008 WAR Continues to Pressure HLS Customers Novartis and Bristol-Myers Squibb Demo #1: Lamberto Andreotti – Bristol-Myers Squibb – President – Worldwide Pharmaceuticals The afternoon began on Central Park West and West 64th Street where activists revisited the upscale posh building of Lamberto Andreotti, Executive with Bristol-Myers Squibb. It is always a pleasure to visit this location as we get to stopp from time to time to express our disgust at the treatment of the poor carriage horses that slave away hauling lard-assed tourists who are too lazy to walk around the park. Banner unfurled and posters held high, protesters named and shamed Lamberto Andreotti, who has never had the courage or the courtesy to come downstairs to speak to those assembled at his front door……”For the cat and for the mouse, we are here outside your house”….activists proclaimed. “We will never back down until you stop the killing”. Flyers were distributed and many stopped to chat with activists and to ask what they could do to help with this very worthy cause. Demo #2: Kristin Galusha-Wild, Novartis – Sales Manager Several blocks away, activists converged at the address of a newly discovered Novartis executive. Since this was the first time at this location, activists concentrated on communicating with and educating neighbors in the hope that word would get to Kristin and that she would be compassionate enough to want to help. Flyers were distributed to many at this quiet and peaceful demonstration of compassion for all beings. Demo #3: Dorothy Watson - Novartis – General Counsel Back on Broadway and 72nd Street, activists once again allowed their voices to be raised in anger and rage at the killing of 500 animals everyday by Huntingdon Life Sciences at the behest of companies like Novartis. Huntingdon Life Sciences has been proven in many undercover investigations to abuse and torture the animals enslaved in their death camps. And by now, Dorothy Watson must have at least a clue about what is going on there. No doubt as General Counsel for Novartis, Dorothy knows of the symbiotic relationship between her firm, Novartis and Huntingdon Life Sciences. “There’s no excuse for animal abuse, Dorothy!” Those who pay Huntingdon Life Sciences to poison, mutilate, maim and ultimate kill innocent animals are just as responsible as those who wield the scalpels and toxic substances. If anything, the companies like Novartis that contract the services of places like Huntingdon Life Sciences are even more responsible. Without them, Huntingdon Life Sciences would go bankrupt. |
