WAR Concludes Global Week of Action Against Max Mara & Visits Dennis Bass and Huntingdon Life Sciences Bristol-Myers Squibb Executives

On Saturday, September 19th, Win Animal Rights continued their quest to rid the world of animal exploitation by paying visits to individuals responsible for unleashing immeasurable suffering upon fur-bearing and laboratory animals.

Demo #1: Max Mara – 813 Madison Avenue

For the second day in a row, activists protested outside a Max Mara store to expose their role in the horrific fur trade. "Hey Max Mara what do you say? How did you torture your fur today?! Gassing, trapping, anal electrocution!" Demonstrators wielded placards of skinned animals and other gruesome images, including some snapshots of the berserk Max Mara employee from the previous night.

Unfortunately she was not able to grace them with her presence this time around. Perhaps the charming woman works in their corporate office? Blood lust seems to be a necessary qualification when working for animal abusers and perverts. Instead, activists had to be content with the numerous people requesting literature about Max Mara's blood-soaked showrooms.

Demo #2: Dennis Basso - 765 Madison Avenue

Following Max Mara, protesters extended some greetings to New York's most notorious furrier, Dennis Basso. "50 skinned alive animals! One fur coat!" During the demonstration, activists received many gracious words of support from pedestrians, one of which included Hardline News host and fellow vegan Jane Velez-Mitchell, who kindly stopped to talk to protesters before wishing them good luck.

Hundreds, if not thousands of people learned the truth behind Basso's perverse sense of fashion. Luckily for the animals nobody ventured into the store during the protest. Perhaps people are beginning to understand that animal cruelty doesn't sell?

Demo #3: James Cornelius, CEO & Chairman – Bristol-Myers Squibb

After Basso, activists again set their sights on HLS customers and returned to the residences of top BMS executives James Cornelius and Lamberto Andreotti. Their chants were heard far and wide. "500 animals died today! James Cornelius is to blame!" Despite the short length of time for the protest, demonstrators handed out a great deal of information about BMS' ties to the most notorious animal laboratory in the world.

Demo #4: Lamberto Andreotti, President and COO - Bristol-Myers Squibb

Activists found Central Park West accommodating once again as tons of people requested information about Andreotti's dirty partnership with HLS. Unfortunately one of his neighbors wasn't fond of freedom of speech and assaulted activists, throwing a bucket of water from their seventh story window. They weren't laughing when they received a visit from the police. Protesters didn't let the attack curtail the demonstration, however, as chanting continued long after the incident.

During both HLS protests, activists were forced to contend with the horse carriage drivers mistreating animals around Columbus Circle. Sure enough, when protesters engaged them, the drivers resorted to middle fingers, profanities, and smacking their posteriors, all while supposedly watching the road. Hey, are you reckless and hate animals? Boy have we got the job for you!
