Holiday Greetings to CEO of ASPCA, Huntingdon Life Sciences Customer AstraZeneca and Auditor John Guttilla

Activists enjoyed slightly better than the recent blustery winter weather to speak out against animal killing and abuse by the ASPCA and Huntingdon Life Sciences.

Demo #1: Ed Sayres - CEO & President ASPCA

The afternoon began at the Upper East Side home of Ed Sayres, CEO and President of the ASPCA. What is great about this location is that it is only 2 blocks away from the ASPCA headquarters and many of Ed’s neighbors are long time supporters of the ASPCA. These folks are compassionate and caring individuals who interested in anything that the ASPCA is doing. They are almost without exception horrified and angry when they hear the details of what the ASPCA is doing.

As activists chanted: Ed Sayres lied, Oreo died……and “For Oreo we will fight, how does Sayres sleep at night”, neighbors came over in droves to find out more about the story of Oreo and the ASPCA’s bizarre actions. Many said: “But I thought the ASPCA was a ‘no-kill’ shelter?”….when they learned the truth they swore they would not support them again until they changed their ways. Although it was cold, it is much easier to stand along the curb when you feel you are reaching people. Of this, activists are quite sure.

*Doormen were quick to tell activists that Ed Sayres moved out of the building.

Demo #2: Sharon Benzeno - AstraZeneca - Senior Regional Scientific Manager

Just a short distance away, activists found themselves in front of the hi-rise building that is home to AstraZeneca’s R&D Manager, Sharon Benzeno. A large graphic banner showing the mutilated remains of a beagle puppy was unfurled and displayed prominently. Other activists held signs that read: “Shame on AstraZeneca” and “AstraZeneca Puppy Killers and Animal Abusers”. Many of Sharon’s neighbors came out of the building or stopped to chat with activists on their way into or out of the building. All were disturbed by the images.

The voices of the activists chanting in unison filled the air of the otherwise quiet block. “500 animals murdered today, Sharon Benzeno is to blame.” Passersby stopped to chat with activists and to take literature describing the relationship between their neighbor and Huntingdon Life Sciences. All agreed that AstraZeneca should cut their ties to Huntingdon Life Sciences. Who wants to partner with one of the most notorious animal killing and abusing companies in the world?

*Doormen were quick to tell activists that Sharon Benzeno moved out of the building.

Demo #3: John Guttilla, Partner - Rotenberg, Meril, Solomon, Bertiger & Guttilla

John Guttilla is a Partner with the CPA firm RMSB&G which came to the aid of Huntingdon Life Sciences when Big 6 firm Deloitte Touche cut their ties to Huntingdon and refused to continue to audit their finances. Had RMSB&G not stepped in, it is likely that Huntingdon Life Sciences would not be killing beagle puppies today.

As a partner, Guttilla is responsible for the decision to create a fake CPA to do HLS’ books and to grease the way for all of this to remain secret….that is, a secret until SHAC found out about it. CPA’s are supposed to lend transparency to protect the investors of publicly held companies. This should give you an idea about how sleazy they are and what a perfect partner for Huntingdon Life Sciences.

Although it had gotten much colder, activists were fueled by their outrage that John Guttilla and his firm get away with the murder going on across the river at Huntingdon Life Sciences. Once again, the neighborhood is very animal friendly and activists received nothing but support from Guttilla’s neighbors. John Guttilla, your neighbors are disgusted with you. Use your influence to cut your ties to the animal abusing scum at Huntingdon Life Sciences. Until then activists will keep coming back to deliver their message.

*A neighbor (no doorman at this building) was quick to tell activists that John Guttilla moved out of the building.

* Note: The reason that this is noted in these reports is that activists rarely protest in front of a building, where no one comes out to say that the targeted individual no longer lives in the building. Good apartments are a rare find in New York City and it is impossible to believe that everyone moves out so soon before protests start. Matter of fact, in many cases, neighbors come out and confirm that the person does live in the building. In the case of Ed Sayres, it has been reported to WAR that Ed has been speaking to his staff about the recent protests at his and Victoria Wells homes. Doormen are paid to be discrete and to protect their residents. They don’t seem to have any qualms about lying if they think it will stop a protest.
